@squibblejack thanks, I appreciate the effort, though it was a long time ago, the date of birth would help a lot. This figure has so many legends and myth surrounding him. For example his lost treasure and also his legendary curse, that he placed on King Philip and Henry as he was burned on the stake. "They will come to judgement before God", sure enough within a year after his execution both kings did die.

@Fulcanellius no idiot , first pope behind excecution of the grandmaster wanst even real pope residing in vatican . He was set up by the king philip the fair . Also confession was not about telling the truth , but about signing a document that was written long before the trial .

Hi, I am doing some research on this person in History, can you provide more information of a time line please? I know that he died at the execution in 1314, but when was he born exactly?
Jacues de molay ????-1314? Just trying to fill in the blanks on his date of birth.

@Wolfsbane909 Hello Wolfsbane909, Little is known of his early years, but de Molay was probably born in Molay, Haute-Saône, in the county of Burgundy, at the time a territory ruled by Otto III as part of the Holy Roman Empire, and in modern times in the area of Franche-Comté, northeastern France. His birth year is not certain, but judging by statements made during the later trials, was probably between 1240 and 1250.
