It's ok to talk about conspiracy theories. sunshine.
I just happen to think that in this case, Paula was thrown by the changes and in trying to make sense of her notes and finding she was reading the wrong person's critique, she had to make it up by memory.
I'm not as naturally ditzy as Paula, but I can imagine making a similar honest mistake - and I'm content to believe that's all it was.

She makes it worse on this video. How can it be david Cook's critique, when her feedback to David Cook was excellent and yet her feedback to Jason was negative. The more she lies the worse she makes it. She admits she was given the paper, well there it is, the producers wrote her scripted notes. The end.!!!
