Run Windows on Ubuntu Linux with Virtualbox

Anyone can run Windows in a virtual environment on Ubuntu Linux. It is very similar to Virtual PC (Made by Microsoft) You need a copy of Windows and an internet connection (to download Virtualbox).................
The Video is a little choppy because of my screen recording program... But it runs smooth on my desktop. Sound does work but I haven't configured sound with my screen recorder. Anyways Yes you can run Windows programs on Linux (Aside from intense graphics games) You can however get another program called "Wine" to run many windows programs (including 3D Games) Do your research and you should be surprised at what you can do on Linux :) Cheers!

what does linux do?? because i want to run a program on my PC, (i have windows 7) but the program i want to use is exclusively for mac computers. will linux help me do that or what?? can i switch back at any time back to windows?? anyone pllllz help thx!

does it work on power pcs im using ubuntu 8.04on my powermac G3 and to save the time do you know if it will work on it?

I don't think it will work on a G3... I have a G3 and it is pretty slow... I don't think it has enough power to run a virtual machine. I have no idea if it will work with windows, because it's a PowerPC. I'm not sure if it will emulate the x86 platform.

hey the thing works up to the part where i get to the cd input thing cause i am using a Compaq PC and i am using the Compaq System recovery cd's and it can't tell wether or not my laptop is a Compaq so can u tell me what is wrong and also it says that the PC recovery discs do not support my model cause it can't detect it so can u tell me what to do

@josephschwenker Wow i got a Pentium 4 2 GHz with 1.75 GB of RAM and a GeForce 6200 512 MB... That is outdated! But still runs COD4 with 25 fps :)
