Roe Deer Rodeo

This Tuesday I witnessed a stampede of 3 Roe Deer in twilight in the forest, and it was the most amazing thing I ever experienced!

Frightening, cause they ran right in my direction, at almost 60 km/h approximately. Fascinating, cause they showcased such strength, velocity, and agility.

And within 15 seconds it was all over, and I needn't be afraid anymore of a (fatal) collision...

I only won something with scrath lottery tickets, many small prizes with which you bought new tickets ;)

I stopped playing subscription Lotto, cause I never won anything significant with my six numbers out of 45.. you only win some big prize with at least 5 out of 6.. go figure.

Better to play in Italy or Spain :)

Yeah, really amazing... those were females, already had their beautiful blue-grey winter coat.. Such speed, strenght.. very lean animals, remarkable.. and as fast as any African predator, I would say..

Alas I heard hunters firing shots as well, so you never know if you get a chance again, they think if you see a wild animal in the Netherlands, that it is a sign of overpopulation... most of them are eternal angry old men..

But heyyy I keep hearing about your lottery.. any chance you win? :)

Heh hmmm yeah as tragic as it might be... They put two highways in the area, if they would have placed them in a different area, you'd have a connected great nature reservate of some size.

And then there is always the hunters.. Dutch hunters think, if you see one animal, as a bypassing pedestrian, that is one too many, and it must be shot.

En dan nog terug naar huis, door het bos...

Er zijn wel jagers actief in het gebied, als ze maar al niet hebben toegeslagen, die eikels...

''The video that could have been..'' haha great! I've seen many deer closely because they do go by my grandmothers backyard from time to time. It's amazing isn't it? Such beautiful animals!
