@ExtremeSkydiverFreak they are not making it for non muslims, they are creating this city to provide job opportunities for their own citizens. i dont think they aspire to be like any western nations but more like their gulf neighbors like dubai and qatar

Bullshit. Non-muslims can't even go to mecca. Why would they want to work nearby. In a country, that still beheads 'witches', and still lives in the dark middle ages. Building a city with all-western knowledge doesn't make you modern. Sorry. Won't work.

The Saudis are realizing that the age of oil will end soon, so they're planning for it, smart thing to do. I doubt this city will ever be a rival to Dubai like I read in a blog, but if this city gets built, it would be pretty amazing to see it someday.
