It is the clock escapement made from paper.
The length of a pendulum is 25cm.
A cycle is about 1 second.

  • That's brilliant ! Can I ask a dumb question? What happens if you remove the weight from the pendulum? Does the mech just spin rapidly round, or does it seize up and bind?

  • the impulse force (from the right side) must pass through the pivot of the pendulum , ^^to ensure the wheel stops during contacting . nice work!!

  • why paper and not dried and machined government cheese?

  • Impressive for something made of paper!

  • its pretty good but its a little fast

  • Your own design? Great work!

  • The model is out of beat. But at least it's not that hard to fix...

  • Any Info on the construct. Building it?

  • The beats are unevenly distributed in time. (The sound is somewhat like 'tik-tak....tik-tak....tik-tak..'). Try to tilt the whole device a little bit, to the right or to the left. If this gives improvement, you can replace the clock in level position and displace the bob at the end of the pendulum somewhat to the right or to the left.
