China launches its third manned spacecraft

China launches its third manned spacecraft in a mission which is expected to include their first space walk.

China has taken its next leap in space and President Hu Jintao hailed the three astronauts on the spacecraft as heroes. This launch is China's third manned takeoff, with the spacecraft blasting off from a remote location.

The space walk is expected to take place within a matter of days.

In October 2003 China joined the U.S and Russia as the only countries to send atsronuats into space.
