Does anybody know what makes water in a Lotus leaf "boil" or bubble constantly? There isn't anything, such as an insect, in the leaf. If the water is removed, and placed back in the leaf, it continues to bubble. I've been trying to solve this puzzle for a few years, and can't arrive at a solution.

  • weeeird !! did you find an answer ??? :)

  • @Quentin77170 I later learned that the bubbling is caused by a large pore in the center of the stem of the leaf. These plants REALLY breathe!

  • that looks like ur using a magnifying glass g. there is a little circle

  • @alreadyfalling Nope. No magnifying glass. Just my lowly Kodak Z712 camera

  • Thats awesome!

  • @Vivisays The huge pore in the middle of that stem was taking a perpetually huge breath! :)
