Such a haunting piece of music and I love Carreras.

2: 56 onwards you can see: " I am from Catalunya, my parents were from Catalunya" - I am a world renowned opera star but singing in Catalan with Lluis Llach is a pleasure neither me or my parents could have ever imagined in the Franco years. One can't imagine the pleasure unless you come from a minority language group (and 12 million speakers is NOT a minority) Visca Catalunya!! The Catalans pay taxes to keep Spain afloat.

I have finally found the CD - it is magnificent! And I have started learning Catalan - what a truly beautiful language!

what I love about this video is that Maestro Josep seems so at ease - normally when he sings, he looks worried that he is not good enough and when finished he leaves the stage at 100 kph -even though his performance is always 100% from the heart and absolutely fantastic...in this video, in his own language, and with another Catalan maestro, he seems so happy and relaxed. Many thanks for posting it and if you have anymore of this concert it would be great(as buying the CD seems almost impossible)

@jasabet2 they sing in catalan I enclose here a translation did by with my poor english the song is a song of LLuis Llach a Catalan singer that has more than 250 songs in catalan.
Together, together, always together
They will tell themselves each twilight,
While the light of their small bed,
Not belongs to any start.
Together, with no shelter,
Together and doing themselves dad and mum,
Together, together, always together

Does anyone know if this can be found on one of Lluis Lach's albums? - singing with José Carreras?
thanks

Today I found the lyrics for "Abril '74" and put them through the translator. I think that between you and Google I know the meaning but I think the last line 'Quan guanyem el combat.' I would say in English 'When the fighting is over". Google had 'When we win the battle' also 'companys' was translated to 'partners' but it should be 'companions as you translated.' I don't know what is meant by 'white moon'? Full moon, yes but not white.

jasabet2, thank you so much for the translation meaning of this song. I don't know how to explain this but these words are so much like what I imagined. I knew the lyrics I put her were not this Junts because one word that Jose Carreras sings at the beginning is blanca which I knew meant white but that word doesn't come at all in the lyrics that I posted. There are so many songs called "Junts" with lyrics but not for this particular Junts. I shall go to the link about the Carnation Revolution.
22-8-2011 Added English lyrics at bottom of video.

I found the lyrics to this song from various places but they don't sound lik what they are singing?
Junts, junts, sempre junts,
així ho diran cada capvespre,
mentre la llum del seu llitet
no és la de cap estrella.
Junts, sense un recer,
junts i així fer-se de pare i mare,
junts, junts, sempre junts.
What language is this? Or what language are they singing. Would love to be able to follow the words. Would appreciate if anyone could help me out. Thanks

@bravocarreras The lyrics you have found belong to the song "Junts" which is another song of Lluís Llach but it is not the one you are listening here, Carreras is singing here, " Abril 74 "
Perhaps the title of the CD they made togheter creates some confusion because the title of the CD is " Junts "
And the language is Catalan. You can try translating with Google Translator - Catalan to English
