A two minute clip from the 1983 Sydney movie 'Going Down'. On their way to a party a man and woman pop into a chemist shop to buy cough mixture and mandrax. "Chemical heaven". Mandrax was very popular with low lifes in Sydney in the 1970s & early '80s. Eventually it was banned due to the level of abuse. Going Down is a good although patchy independent film directed by Haydn Keenan. Esben Storm plays Michael & Vera Plevnik is Jane (Betty in the clip).
April 2011 update - read in the paper that Esben Storm died recently, he was only 61 years old. He was a significant figure in the Australian film and art revival of the 1970s.
haha Looks like a good Movie.
