He is having so much FUN!! makes me smile. someone a while back was asking what tuning he's using. i think he's in open D - D-A-D-F#-A-D. Does anyone knon what kind of distorion/effect pedal he's using to get that massive raw blown up sound? you can see him messing with the knobs before he starts playing. i got to know!!

i do'nt think people used line selectors much back then. i dont' think they were even available.  maybe...

Of corse, Clap-Town outplay this guy whit whatevere he's got under his left little-toe. It don't matter. Hound Dog is blues, Clap-Town plays blues.

I saw Hound Dog in the U of I student union basement around 72-73. When he stood up and jammed, all hell broke loose. He was simply amazing. I left at midnight and he was still playing. How bless I was to see the master.

Lucky son of a bitch. I would have paid $100 (or cover their bar tab) to have seen these guys live. $75 for just Brewer Phillips.

Best thing about this guitar playing is that its completely true to the guy playing it.
