Virtuosos of the Planet 2008
The International festival Virtuosos of the Planet was initiated by the International Charitable Fund of Vladimir Horowitz competition and was held for the first time in 2006. It is a unique project because representatives of the planets performing elite, first prize-winners of the most prestigious world competitions members of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) perform in it.
The Festival takes place every year in Autumn in September-November in the capital of Ukraine Kyiv on the stages of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
For three years in the Festival have taken part 30 musicians from fourteen countries (Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, USA and Venezuela), representing 21 famous WFIMC international competitions.
Participants performance is accompanied by the National Honoured Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (Conductor: Honoured Figure of Arts of Ukraine and Russian Federation Volodymyr Sirenko, Laureate of Taras Shevchenko National Premium of Ukraine) and Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine (Conductor: Mykola Dyadyura, Honoured Figure of Arts of Ukraine).

great playing. this concerto's weakness is the balance of the third movement in the fff brass passage, the viola can never be heard

The mic placement is bad. The viola needs to have a spot mic. This is not among the better viola concertos in the repertoire.
