Photos from the June 24, 2010 G8 G20 protest by the indigenous population of Canada. It was organised by Defenders of the Land (http://www.defendersoftheland.org/) and had participation from many other organisations. It was a loud, well planned and peaceful demonstration.

All photos shot with Nikon D700 and 70-200 f2.8.

  • @kylejones7 stfu im not native or white but ur comments are retarded. Please imagine if i came to u took away everything u knew ur land culture and brought u into a school where u were told everything u grew up with is a lie. They have a right to complain u racist pig, Yes it is their land, and like every other Europeans colonizer they ruined it and massacred many of them. Wouldn't u complain if u were put in that situation with no apology for the genocide that occurred.

  • @monsterredlight i pity you. Sheep live better lives than a large majority of your people. soo baahh ha, in your face. P.S. not that makes any difference, but i am not white. how sad is that, everyone who comes here surpasses you guys socio-economically. Even in the south. The blacks are well above you guys. Weak

  • @kylejones7 bahhhh bahhhhhh (sheep)

  • @monsterredlight Lol,at least you people can still dream. Good on ya. You're right, keep up the protests and blame the Canadian government for your People's lack of democracy, health and economic well-being. By assimilating, you'd be saving your children from the molesting, greedy pig chiefs. Look, what the hell do you want? Control over what the Canadian nation has built on your land? Sounds childish, but I won't blame you for that, it's a opportunity that no normal greedy person would pass up

  • @kylejones7 as if you even really matter in our Native peoples movement, lord knows people like your are god fearing, law abidin, tax paying citizens so when we will change the laws you will just follow like the sheep you are....right?

  • @monsterredlight

get over it, you got screwed over, yes. However, your ridiculous demands and continued practices have obviously not done your people any good.

  • SONIC! (0:54)

  • @kylejones7 Native rights are or internationally know as Indigenous Peoples rights are recognized by the UN. Enshrined in International Law by a handful of international instruments most notably the UN Declaration on the rights of Inidigenous Peoples, Indigenous Peoples have the inalienable collective right to self determination were as other groups be they culteral, racial, religios or otherwise do not. So our rights are human rights.....

  • Well done! Thank you so very much. Peace to you and yours.

  • native rights are not human rights, they are state rights. There is an interesting war that happened b/w State rights and Human rights, check out the American civil war.
