ATWT: Progressive gay ad airing during ATWT

This ad from Progressive Insurance has been airing in the NYC area for about 2 weeks. This is the first time I've seen it air during ATWT. I can't help but think that they chose the time slot because of Nuke. While the ad is not explicitly gay, I think one can assume that at least one of the guys -- the one with the rainbow shirt -- is supposed to be gay. And the way they look at each other suggests that they're a couple.

All of the Progressive-Flo commercials are absurdist and/or surreal. They all take place in an all-white purgatory-like place, with characters that are caricatures, The farcical scenario you described is part of the fun. Think about classic sitcoms like I Love Lucy and Three's Company; they've both featured plotlines that real couples would never encounter.

@lgbtTV4 I assume they are just friends because who would honestly treat their significant other is such a way i.e. buying that persons watch because that person has fallen on hard times and then refuse to sell the watch back when that person is once again stable? If you care about a person, you would loan them money or gift them the money, not buy an object favored by the individual refuse to sell it back. Better question, why won't Progressive validate you 'gay' claim?
