Macbook & Adobe Flash Player (even simple Flash lets CPU get very hot under Mac OS X)

Flash is really bad on Linux too. Most videos have noticeable lag, and it's basically impossible to play fullscreen videos on youtube. I'm often forced to download videos and play them in an external player. I thought things would get better when they released the 64bit beta, but they haven't. Adobe needs to get their act together on non-Windows platforms. It would be even better if Youtube simply dumped flash for HTML5.

This is a great video - I've been fighting this issue on OS X for a long time now, and it's starting to look grim when it comes to winning...

@iben07 do u know why flash works like shit on os x? because adobe doesn't sponsore apple

I agree that flash shouldn't make a computer get that hot, however, I also think the macbooks need better cooling...my new 27 inch i3 imac barely heats up...(and the cpu only goes to 15%) and yes i watched the same vid in hd...got to about 103 degrees F...flash games got it to 132 though...

adobe have hogged and milked the internet for far too long
i cant wait till the day they're finally dead and gone
I think the only chance for a fix of this issue is to make it public that it is Adobe's Flash Player who causes this problem. It happens on all Macs, and Adobe has not been able to find a solution for this within 2 1/2 years.
Adobe has to make the move! Somehow they won't or can't...
