Phoenix.
Summer.
Night.
120 is a somber piano track I pieced together in Garage Band through classic point and click and with a Casio MIDI controller, it may eventually find its way into a short film. This track is the product of channeled stress, which may be partially responsible for the overall tone of the finished product. I attempted to capture the feel of a drive through downtown Phoenix on a hot July night, with all the dust and grittiness of a metropolis rising up out of the desert.
I have to sheepishly admit that this track was also a bit of practice for me, I haven't produced music in over a year. It was definitely nice to shake the rust off.
Anyone who's experienced a drive through Phoenix on a summer evening will understand the title as well.
The graphic was originally a production still from "Smooth", a great little short film I was lucky enough to have the honor of being part of. The brains behind Smooth are talented individuals indeed, but don't take my word for it - give the film a watch.
