They were the last of the original Delta Blues musicians. First hand accounts of having played with the likes of Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton and Tommy Johnson are now relegated to history books. This is no doubt as sad as losing the last American soldier to have fought in World War I, who also died this year.

@littledan3053 Both Pinetop and Honeyboy died this year. You may be thinking of R.L. Burnside who died in 2005!

R.I.P Joe Willie "Pinetop" Perkins, July 7th 1913 to March 21st 2011. thanks for the music, the inspiration, your knowledge and what you left for the youths to follow and learn from.
