  • does the foam in a heat moldable skate expand when it's heated ?

  • @Shaftsus The foam does not expand when heat molded. All the molding happens with the thermo plastic in the ankle, tongue, and arch area. The foam follows the shape that the thermo takes. There are heat moldable foams but too much foam can make the skate really sloppy on the ice. It's good for inline though.

    Depending on the manufacturer and the way they integrate the thermo plastic makes a big difference in moldability. Glad to here the molding worked well!
