The Armenian Duduk

Here's me improvising on my Karen Hakobyan Duduk in A. I haven't played in a week so my lips got tired very quickly and the reed wasn't warmed up well. The Double Reed instrument is an extremely expressive and wonderful sounding instrument that is captivating and inspiring. I've been playing for about 3 months now, and have still much to learn and work on, especially in the way of playing more microtonal and middle eastern scales on the instrument, which require half holing technique, strong face and lips muscles, and allot of breath and patience....

@EVANGEORGEUK well I played everyday, I think most people give up after a week or so, because after 10 minutes your mouth goes numb. I'm certainly not amazing, you should see the young Armenians and the beautiful sounds they make on duduk.

@moltomix Um, Perhaps you should actually read the title, it says Armenian Duduk... Not armenian Duduk Music, nor do my tags for this video state that. This was one of the first videos I did on Duduk... Perhaps you should view the others I have made and see my progress on the instrument, rather then tell me to get a Duduk teacher. Also note I've not tried to post many videos of me playing armenian music out of respect for the music.. perhaps you could show me the same courtesy....

@BeautySavesWorld who told you that? You're thinking of maqam which is Arabic an what the Turks use in conjunction with dhagstah, Mugham is not maqam, and different, and Armenians use it with duduk....

I love the Duduk...and I am Persian :) This instrument has been used all across the Middle East since the beginning of time. The Armenians are our brothers.
