The status quo for both parties is to vehemently denounce ANY nomination to ANY position brought forth by the opposing party. IF they are in the minority, they fail to understand they lost the election for a reason....the majority of people don't agree with their way of thinking. To the victor goes the spoils.

Obviously, Bush was getting more flak for gas prices getting outta hand because a) he comes from one of the most connected oil families in the country, and b) his insane war in Iraq and the way it destabilized and brought uncertainty to the Middle East is what jacked up those prices in the first place.
