The company AB Atlas started in 1873. In 1898 AB Atlas acquired the rights for Sweden to manufacture Rudolf Diesel's engine under a subsidiary company AB Diesels Motorer. In 1917 AB Atlas consolidated the company under the name AB Atlas Diesel. In 1956 AB Atlas Diesel changed its name to Atlas Copco AB, its current name.

  • It's still running. Mostly in the summer when the ship is used in cruising around Bodø, North-Norway

  • @SteamboatWilley the motor tug kent it was built in 1948 for jp knight ltd of rochester kent uk and is now a preserved by the south eastern tug society, her 5 cylinder, direct reversing ,British Polar Diesel Type M-45-M main engine ( rated at 880 bhp) is probably one of the oldest of its type still running , she has 2, jp2 lister generaters a well and can be seen at chatham dockyard uk kent tuesdays and saterdays
