Hi guys, Well no matter what way you look at it, whatever came first came first. But there is no new material here. Simply a tape edit.
Dont get me wrong I love this track but was hoping for a different mix perhaps.
Whoever said this uses different sounds for drums and bass need their ears cleaning lol. Its a LM1 drum machine and is exactly the same as dare / L&D.
Please don't get me wrong. Its superb, but still one is just an edit of the other. Whatever way around that is.

@kolakube123 Not doubting that either! Except you've got it in reverse. You say this is 'a basic edit' - it's not any kind of edit - it's the original full recording - the Love And Dancing version and the 7" instrumental are edited FROM this. And the Dare album version is actually a completely new remix with different drum and bass sounds

@umdesch4 Things That Dreams, Do Or Die & Seconds were new on Love And Dancing and hadn't previously appeared on a 12"

Ahh memories of Tiffany's in Chester in the early 80's- fantastic times and people never to be forgotten!!

@kolakube123 You're absolutely right, but probably not in the way you were intending. The 7" version and the Love and Dancing mix did not contain any new material at all, since they were basically both cut from this mix, which I owned on vinyl well before Dare came out. In fact, pretty much nothing on Love and Dancing was "new". It was almost all from previous 12" singles. The way it was cut together and presented was cool though.

kolakube - you are wrong. This is an all-time fave of mine, I have the 12" on vinyl and I have it on CD. This is the proper 12" version and it's awesome. I was about 20 at the time and I think I danced in enough UK clubs to know what I'm saying. Dare and League Unlimited came out much later.

@bkse2309 would like to endorse your comments there, I got (and still have) the 12" of this in 81 when I was too young to smoke ;)... great example of production ahead of its time certainly in the UK so its sad to hear of Martin Rushent's passing. Always loved the instrumental on the B side too. Loads have filched sorry been influenced by this sound and production. RIP Martin.
