This product is aiming solely to the enterprise, Skype might be free but business users need robust and secure sollutions, not routing their data trhough third-party infrastructure.

This device is working properly just with Avaya Aura certified infrastructure and most of the features rely on having proper servers set up - Presence, SIP, Messaging etc.

Actually, all you need to add to your data center is a single server, and you're good to deploy this for 25-50 users (not including Video). However, it's not meant for the private consumer yet.
