Another of Bach's inventions. Probably my favorite one. I like to play it slightly slower and/or much more legato than I normally hear it.

Sorry about the flubs. I did this by request on the spot without warming up.

I would love to see any posts of any constructive praise or criticism. I am self taught, have no teacher, and need the advice!

  • monotone...the dynamic markings are there for a reason!!! But you're pretty good for a self taught person. Also, don't play through rests. :)

  • Playing through the rests was a deliberate style decision on my part. But I agree my playing here is quite monotonous and boring. :)

  • Wow, look how flat my right hand is. I'm playing like I still have guitar fingernails!

  • ariesisalive your a noobckae. Not a single 2 or 3 part invention has any dynamic markings in it whatsoever.

  • @GaleoDeus May I please comment that I did not find your playing monotonous or boring, and if you played through some rests or did not express the piece just exactly as the composer indicated, I hope you can be happy with the idea that music is for enjoyment and not for a mathematical or analytical exercise. let the Purists play like robots, exactly as the the composer indicated (because they spoke to the composer in a dream, yea right), but your playing was enjoyed by everyone here THankYOU.

  • the sheet music upside down, not you... unless you want to.

  • now play it upside down.

  • This was very enjoyable. This invention is slow, together with the E-major invention. They dont work in higher speed in my opinion.

  • yea i like it at this tempo..it has more room for musical interpretation..

i'm playing this right now and my teacher makes me play it crazy fast and it doesn't sound as good as this.

  • I love that this piece was written so monotoned. Hearing it somewhat legato was nice. Good ending

  • The baroque style has a lot more staccoto style, you could play all the 16th's and 8th's staccato. Would make it mroe interesting :)

  • Lemme correct myself. Typing a little too fast today. You dont have to lift your hands during rests lol. If you did playing some of the more difficult and faster pieces would be hard and it is accustomary to leave your hands close to the piano so you could jump right back in.

  • And another thing is he didnt play through any rests nob. Get the Music, read it, and learn it before you make critisizing posts.
