For Ripley (Symphony No 2 by Howard Hanson)

A montage of Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver). Excerpts taken from Alien (1979), Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Alien Resurrection (1997). The music is taken from the first movement of the second symphony, "Romantic," by Howard Hanson, from the soundtrack to Alien.

I am so pleased that this video has been seen by so many people and that so many of you have enjoyed it. It was a sheer pleasure to make and, apart from some annoying little things (like the slightly squeezed aspect ratio), I wouldn't want to change anything about it. Thank you again.

In case anyone was wondering, this specific theme within Hanson's No. 2 symphony "Romantic" is called the Interlochen theme, and it is played at every concert at Interlochen at the end while the conductor is leaving the stage. Tradition holds that no one applauds while the conductor leaves to this music.
