Percy Jackson and the Olympians is finally here.  Weve got the movie preview right now.

After much hype around the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians, we can start counting down until its February 12th release date. Until then, of course we have the official action-packed trailer for The Lightning Thief. Now in case you've been stuck in mythological times, this movie is about a somewhat troubled teen who suddenly discovers he's half-human half-god, as he is the son of Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon. He embarks on an adventure with other gods - fighting mythological characters from stories along the way - to get back a stolen weapon that without it, an epic war would result.




Based on the popular book, the film's director Chris Columbus spoke out that one of the most difficult pieces to make fit into the movie had to do with the character's ages. According to Columbus, the book had kid characters speaking like young adults, so for the actual Percy Jackson and the Olympians movie, he decided to make the students 17 years-old. That reportedly resulted in more action-packed scenes instead of the sometimes "cute and silly" happenings in the book. Plus, the director says we get to see more developed characters and relationships on the silverscreen.

The issue with this book-to-film production is that Percy Jackson and the Olympians IN PRINT has such a big fan following. If you're a loyal reading fan, please leave a comment if you feel too many changes happened for this movie make or if it's okay with you.

the fact is the movie only sort of resembles the book i mean some characters arent even portryed correctly!! mostly grover because in the book grover is basically a wimp!! but also percy was never claimed everyone just knew he was the son f poseidon which means we miss the bonding of luke and percy and we miss the pit of tartarus and luke nd the pit scorpion. percy and luke never fought! the movie is a horrible compariosn to the book. thumbs up if you agree

They did an alright job of the movie, but they messed up annabeths looks and since percy is 17, they'll have to change the great prophecy for the last book if they want a movie out of that too

Yes they did, they managed to get young actors for the Harry Potter films, why was it such a problem here? Also what happened to Clarisse? She better be included somewhere in later movies; along with the Stolls and Katie Gardner, if they could squeeze in a bit of tratie it wouldn't make all those twists so bad...

you should have done it just like the book so you can make more movies for the other books and Annabeth has blonde hair and gray eyes. Percy has green eyes not blue

WRE"S CLARISSE IN THE MOVIE! HADES IS AWESOME NOT A BAD GUY! Chris Columbus was a good directer until this movie. Sad so very sad.

way to many changes i would be fine with it if the plot changed a bit like not including every little detail or event but they didnt include hardly anything and if they did include it it was completely messed up!!! oh and the fact they are all 17 completely ruins the whole point of the great propecy!! but that would be ok they could just make it a diffrent age like 21 or something, also the characters are totaly wrong! and the event they base the movie over is a very small part of the bok(pearl)
