9351 on the West Somerset Railway blasts out of Blue Anchor bound for Bishops Lydeard with the 16:00 from Minehead. The engine was pulling 8 coaches and a friend tells me that with the tender it is equivalent to 9 coaches with the weight of it!

  • I think your friend got that wrong!

    9 coaches @ 34 tons = 306 tons!

    The engine + tender is around 105 tons... but we don't know for sure because it's a design of it own. I guess that from a manor being 109 tons ic tender.

    btw, i'm no annorak, but I had to somthing after reading that!!!
