This is my first documentary short film. About 10 min. long.

"Hollywood Field Trip"
Filmed, Directed and Edited by Ron DeLeon

"In 2003, a group of community college students from Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, CA travels to Hollywood, CA for an extraordinary field trip. They visit CBS Studios, Universal Studios, (the now defunct) Hollywood Entertainment Museum, Graum's Egyptian Theater and many tapings of TV shows."

Filmed with a Bulky Sony Digital 8 Camcorder

DIRECTOR'S NOTE:
This was a turning point of my life. After making several visits from Sacramento to Hollywood and back again. I decided to move to Hollywood to becoming an actor and filmmaker.

After I moved in, I never imagine how hard it is to get work and to break in. I turned 21 at that time and I was naive. Another reason I went to Hollywood is to attend school for Film and TV. I should have came up with a Plan B. If I did, I would have joined the Navy. LOL! Now I am 27, and still struggling to break in despite of working on major film and TV projects and working from job to job.

FILM NOTES:
This was a 3 day/2 night trip. No Budget. I use my Bulky Digital 8 video camera, I only have 3 blank tapes and a 2 hour battery. So I had to recharge the battery every hour and I had to turn on and off the camera to save tape for the important parts. It was difficult. My first cut of the film was 20 minutes. At first I was satisfied, but in the end, I didn't like it. I constantly cutting the film for a period of 3 years, until I gave up on this project, due to lack of stock footage and interviews. Now with the power of YouTube and Viral Videos, I was determined to finish the project. In 2008, I recut this project to 10 minutes and added royalty free music and some minor photos to keep the film flowing.

After a long time of editing the film and doing my homework, I have finally completed this film. I hope you would enjoy this film as I present you "Hollywood Field Trip".
