I answer more questions that I get about the dizi. Questions were specifically on replacing the 阿膠 with garlic juice and how to play grace notes and trills.
I know why they use tooth paste... >.< well typically when you buy jewelry silver/gold it gets... idk not as shiny overtime, and my mom taught me to use it to polish up your stuff. So I thats why they're using toothpaste to polish their flutes.... LOL
@Aznjen96 Using scotch tape won't give that typical buzzing sound. It will just be a normal flute sound, like a recorder. When I didn't have dimo I cut pieces from a thin plastic bag and stuck it on the dizi with saliva. Works great.
But you can buy good dimo and erjiao from eBay, it's cheap.
Can I ask a question? How do you tune your flute?
