A chaplain in Lisieux shows the actual glasses used by Pauline to explain to young Therese how God loves everyone the same. Pauline took Therese's little crystal drinking glass and their father, Louis' beer mug and filled them each full of water. She then asks Therese which glass is fuller? They are both full and illustrate how God loves each person as much despite their differences.

The chaplain also mentions that Louis' beer mug probably came from his student days in Strasbourg. (Maniscript A, folio 19, Story of a Soul)

Filmed during a candlelight evening in Lisieux at the St Jacques exhibit of original possessions belonging to St Therese and her family, October 2009.
