Research has shown instances of animal cruelty often do not stand alone. People who engage in animal violence are more likely to commit human violence in the future, experts say. The Baltimore City Anti-Animal Abuse Task Force, which was created in July 2009, has worked to make police and judges more aware of the link in hopes that they will take investigating and prosecuting animal abuse cases more seriously.
