This is to salute the 104,366 brave Americans buried in foreign lands. May they rest in peace.

"America the Beautiful" is an American patriotic song. The lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates and the music composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A. Ward.

Bates originally wrote the words as a poem, Pikes Peak, first published in the July 4th edition of the church periodical The Congregationalist in 1895. The poem was titled America for publication.

Ward had originally written the music, Materna, for the 1600s hymn O Mother dear, Jerusalem in 1882.

Ward's music combined with the Bates poem was first published in 1910 and titled America the Beautiful. The song is one of the most beloved and popular of the many American patriotic songs. From time to time it has been proposed as a replacement for The Star-Spangled Banner as the National Anthem.

  • @txl301md Replying from my other channel - Unfortunately many time we are at the mercy of the politicians. Our role is not to vote for them again if they abuse their power or put the country in a mess like some leaders have.

I look at the soldiers of victims and I would honor them but will not honor those who sent them.

  • @malpen04 Well its nice 2 be optimistic but i believe our leaders r using intellegence 2 make there decisions. Their motives r what I question. However, there is a choice. If soldiers were not glamorized & honored so often by us & the media, the machine would fail 2 function. I dont see how we can honor people when we r blind to what they do. Bottom line...If everyone refused 2 serve in the military machine, war would be impossible. Victims are the taxpayers paying over $1million/troop/year

  • @txl301md I personally hate wars and I think that if the leaders care to use intelligence and prudence, many wars could be avoided. Soldiers are victims of decisions taken by irrational leaders. Soldiers are in a position of kill or get killed. I don't believe most of the soldiers enjoy killing other people but they are forced to.

  • @malpen04 Its ur video do what u want. But the "Culprits" are everyone involved. There was never a need for any of the wars in the past 4 centuries. I think u should be careful in immortalizing the dead. I understand ur point that they are ignorant but that doesnt always excuse the wicked. Trying to get at peoples morals is difficult but u have to put yourself in everyones place & then judge them from the same baseline. Every1 has a choice in what they do & for them that choice was murder

  • @txl301md I disagree. Those who sent the soldiers may be the culprits but not the soldiers themselves. Lots of freedom the world gain is because of brave soldiers who died to give the rest freedom.

Best is to remove your message which can hurt many people.

  • @ShirleyJean1000 - Mostly motivated by pride and greed of world leaders. Would love to see a war-less world. Thanks for your comment

  • @Pilarfay Muchas gracias Pilar.
