One of four UK public information films advising viewers to see diabled people for who they are as a person. In this one, a barman in a busy club notices an attractive young woman, who orders a drink in her own special way, but his other intended plans for the night go awry.
I never really understood what we were supposed to take away from this PIF. It's supposedly about not discriminating against persons with disabilities, yet the the deaf girl is instantly accomodated. Also, one minute she has such cripplingly low self-esteem that she doesn't seem sure if he'll even give her a drink, and the next she's shooting the guy down like a professional. Are they trying to say that deaf girls are mercurial bitches? It's very confusing.
