@TheMordru you cant be doing it right, it holds really well, and your gently running your stone over it lol.

Most useless thing I have ever purchased! You cannot tighten the clamp enough to keep the blade from moving.

obviously you've never used one of these.
I've had mine for 10 years, the diamond hones are great as well. The mount is great as well. Check out Lansky's two sided diamond paddle sharpeners too.
i guess i'm lucky, i've never been cut sharpening any knife, with numerous methods...knock on wood.

@TheSovietJ The Smith's kit is Made in China. Lansky is Made in USA, patented the original kit and works better....my opinion
