It might have been a good idea to clarify a couple of things. This was originally aired quite some time before G4 MLP showed up. It was a response to Bill O' Reilly's infamous proof of the existance of god: "Tide comes in, tide goes out. No miscommunication. You can't explain that." So Steven Colbert brought in an astronomer to talk about how tides work, and when the guy finally summed it up saying that the moon was responsible for the tides, this happened.
