It's a national disgrace that the Senate has not produced a budget, as of October 16th, 2011, in 900 days. Senate Democrats, during this time of national crisis, failed even to present a budget plan — in open defiance of the law and the public they serve. Senate Majority Leader Reid said it would be "foolish" to have a budget. The reason for this evasion is clear: Democrat leaders in Washington think it is politically foolish to commit publicly to the kind of tax increases and health-care rationing that would be required to sustain their vision of ever-expanding federal government.
Why are we still paying these people?

Hardly is Obama the big spender Republicans make him out to be. You don't get to where we are in 3 years. The end of Social Security was talked about in the early 90's when my history teacher at Marquette High School had enough foresight to tell me NOT to depend on SS when I retired. That's a huge part of our annual spending increases but no one can really touch it because it's such a touchy subject...hard to tell people...no more checks.

@wajobu Really???? Did you not listen to him and how the spending has gone unchecked for the past couple of years and out national debt has climbed astronomically....they just keep on printing more money and spending like it's going out of style....George Soros is laughing all the way to the bank and thrilled that he's bringing down another country...OUR COUNTRY!!! Wake up and smell the coffee while you can still afford to buy it, you lame brain!!

The "silent " majority can no longer be silent! It's time for the government to be accountable for its actions for the sake of our nation..

I wonder what would happen if a law were passed that stated no individual would have to pay income taxes until such time a budget were passed? I bet Harry Reid would have that budget in the hands of Obama in no time flat. As for wajobu, grow up! Members of both parties are responsible for the mess we are in, in addition to all the voters that voted these Yahoos in. We were promised transparency, all we got were bills that were passed without reading them, Solyndra, Gov't Motors, etc, etc.

So Paul, You had 2,900 days during the Bush Administration with trillions in deficit spending, phony wars and off-books Defense Department spending (YOU voted for ALL of it), all of it on deficit and with borrowed money. Please don't preach to me and others about budgets. You and the GOP are the biggest bunch of frauds and hypocrites in America (and likely the entire World).

the senates reaction to the fiscal problems we are facing is equivalent to a child screaming and punching their own head during a fire alarm.
