http://shoshiplatypus.blogspot.com A floral explosion box for a Christian friend's 80th birthday, containing several mini-greetings cards. The 8 flaps which explode outwards when the lid is removed, each contain a small tag with a message on it - a prayer, a Bible verse, a "Shalom" (Hebrew for peace), etc. I used many different patterned and plan paper and card, including Core-dinations card which I embossed with my Cuttlebug. The central sunflower is mounted on a "Jack-in-the-box" paper spring. There are many paper flowers and butterflies embellishing the box as my friend is a keen gardener. Full details of its construction, and photos, on my blog (URL above).

  • Fabulous video, great commentary - able to understand and hear everything. Thanks so much for clear explanation! It so wonderful for those of us who have trouble with seeing in our mind what we wish to create to be able to look at a creative video like this to get an idea to execute and feel accomplished, too. Bless you!!

  • @raggedydoodles Hi! Thanks for your lovely comment. If you go to my blog (address above) and find May 2010 in my Blog Archive on the right-hand side, you will find 3 posts on the Explosion Box - the first is entitled "Cuttlebug Machine and Explosion Box Part 1." Pts. 2 and 3 follow on. This was an early project - I've done many more subsequently as my skills have developed, so please feel free to look at more recent posts on my blog! See in partic. "Beehive Explosion Box."

  • Wat r the measurements

  • @Llanora04 As far as I remember, it was about 4 inches square, and about 6 inches tall. I didn't keep templates of anything - it was my first explosion box and I hadn't been doing this sort of work for very long.
