With the help of hotel manager Markus, the young veterinarian Katharina lands a job at a South African animal breeding station. Although the station's owner Mike is at first skeptical about hiring a woman for such a dangerous job, he does not have much choice: after suffering a serious injury from a trap set by illegal hunters, he now needs all the help he can get.
When Katharina discovers that the station's baby lions have been stolen, the determined vet heads out into the wilderness in a risky pursuit of the thieves.
After many years, Markus and his old schoolmate Jonathan reunite in Cape Town. Jonathan's family owns a winery in the breathtaking Table Mountains, but since his brother's death, the business has been going downhill. His nephew Lennard distrusts him, fearing that Jonathan has appeared only to claim his inheritance.
When Jonathan sees Lennard's mother Hannah, they quickly realize that their old passions have never died. To win his nephew's trust, Jonathan attempts to help Lennard save the struggling winery from financial ruin -- but Hannah stuns them both with a shocking revelation.
Another of Markus' hotel guests is the career-oriented architect Natalie, who is in charge of building a new stadium. Unfortunately, the site is the practice court for a group of young soccer players. When Natalie meets and falls in love with their coach, she faces a dilemma -- should she jeopardize her project and her career for her feelings?
