The funny thing is, Warcraft was repeatedly criticized for always having generic quest types of Kill X number of Y, for having huge travel times, for being too slow and too repetitive. It's starting to move away from that shit just to stay relevant - and here we have a totally new game making all of those mistakes again. It's like game developers have never spoken to anyone who actually plays these games.

What we really need, at this point, is an intervention. A drastic one. You know what I'm saying - Team Ninja need to make an MMO :)

World of Warcraft with Ninja Gaiden's gameplay speed and compexity? That's break the mould alright. Make it happen, Team Ninja.

@boiledelephant Before the game release, the first producer, Tanaka, said that he had looked into other games like WOW, Guild Wars, Aion and other big names for ideas to improve the overall game play in FF14. And two months after the failure release, he said in an article saying that it was some of his teammates who had actually looked/played in games like WOW. If someone had actually played in a game like WOW, FF14 would be like a waste of time, in terms of action speed. Lack of actions!

@unavei Don't bring graphics into it for god sakes. Only kids / people who don't know what they're on about bring something as silly as graphics determine a games worth / playability.

@unavei As for general game play. With all the FF games, I have always been stuck grinding for a fare while at one point or another, it is inevitable. With wow, they have made it where grinding never necessary and leveling is now far more enjoyable and can be a good pass time again. FF is only single player, defeating any real challenges you might think you have. With wow, you have to seek out help from actual people. Wow > FF, this is a non biased opinion so stick it up ya.

@unavei Are you on crack? I have been a FF fan boy ever since it started and still am to this day. While I love their story and characters, I have always found FF as a very straight forward game, yea there are like few times where you gotta think like a little bit? If your IQ is above room temperature then you should be fine. But wow is a lot better than FF in terms of MMO. Square's attempts at making an MMO has been HORRIBLE. They need to stick to single player and that's that. end of.
