@7822welshsteam The Czechs had their own manufacturing industry and were fiercely proud of it. They even made their own improvements to Prussian locos. Someone said they took the rugged practicality of German locos, the style of Chapelon and combined them with their own. They also took engineering risks - the Albatross Class has a roller bearing walled up permanently in the middle cylinder big-end. Gresley would never have done that. Beautiful and practical locos.
