China went backward for 100 years during the 19th century because of various invasions by foreign powers. After the world wars ended then there were civil wars. Mao didn't need to do much to improve life expectancy except from winning the civil war. Respects to Hans Rosling but he needs to know the history background before giving undue credits to some random historical figures.
i do not think it is a matter of volunteering. not many beings are willing to discontinue existence. i think the solution lies in a massive wipeout by illness and natural disasters. i do not think "final solutions" are up to us...
i don't think illness or natural disasters count as solutions, since their out of human control.
killing people off is an easy solution that anyone can come up with. there are 2 ways to carry this out - kill yourself, or kill someone else. the former would suck for you. the latter would mean that you're a selfish bastard. (and cause a host of other problems...) either way, its bad.
there ought to be a better way than to 'off 1 sixth of the population', no?
The only reason why we speak English is because its easy to communicate with it, right? And if one can speak English fluently albeit with accent, why would they gamble on a translater who doesn't necesarily know what the speaker means exactly?
