  • Not mentioned in the video you should hit screw threads with a small shot of blue Loc-Tite so it doesn't move later.

  • @Glock40guy

Good point! Also for those of you who don't know, not all Loc-Tite is the same.

Use Blue for this- NOT green or red... ;D

  • Does having too much overtravel affect anything, other than possibly making the pistol less accurate to use?

  • @LarrysNetTube It can cause the slide to hang on the disconnector and affect the slide cycling smoothly. Best bet is to adjust it, try it, and if you have problems with the slide cycling, adjust it in a bit and try again. Rinse and repeat as needed. ;D

If you have any problems with it, feel free to give us a call!!

  • Is it okay to dry fire a double or single stack? Also why you say not to let the hammer fly forward with the slide off or it could cause damage?

  • @JPEBeard

We say not to let the hammer fall forward with the slide off because without the slide it will hit on the back of the frame and dent it - if you ease it forward with the slide off you can see the exact location it would ding it. The hammer is also designed to hit a titanium firing pin with a spring that is designed to give way. Hitting it on the steel frame (with no give) can damage the hammer as well. Thanks for posting- both good questions!

As long as you follow all safety rules (make sure it's unloaded, point it in a safe direction, double check it's unloaded, etc) the act of dry firing will not damage our pistols.

  • @GunBigotHater - Glad you like it! Customers are the single most important thing to any business- we realize this and try to act accordingly. If you have any requests for other videos, don't hesitate to email us the suggestion to: feedback@STIguns.com

    Thanks for watching!!

  • I wish someone had taken the time to show me this on my Gold Cup, about 25 years ago. That would have been a handy piece of info. The dealer said it was for trigger pull. I adjusted it until it wouldn't shoot, and eventually figured it out.

It's nice that you care about your customers. Thanks for posting.
