Small Addison NIKE Area

I've been told that this parcel of land off Fullerton was used for Army housing of NIKE crewman. Its within a mile of the launch site and the radar site. See this channel for more NIKE and Civil Defense videos.

I was just there at the old viaduct. Was it a single lane tunnel through the embankment? These days, the south side of the embankment is slightly marshy and covered with trash. Also, from the south, the last hundred feet of the road is blocked off, and the street is slowly sinking into the swamp.

I think most of the people in the Addison Historical museum weren't around back then and don't know much about it. I went to the city works department and they let me copy aerial photos showing just where everything was. When I moved to Addison in late 1962 it was possible to drive Lombard to North Av though the road was not very good. There was even a sign at the corner of North Ave for the Nike missile base. Lombard rd has not been passable for prob 45 years, the rail trestle filled in too.

OK. I got that info from the Addison Historical Museum. I really get a lot of contradicting stories from these several NIKE videos of mine. I appreciate the corrections, and clarifications!

That is one of the wells / pump house, for the Village it has nothing to do with the NIKE base. The housing was torn down years ago, The new homes on Army Trail Road by Village hall is the site where the Army houses were. They are all gone.
