im not a specialist in fish keeping, i prefer snakes. but generally tips would be (i think): you could darken the lights in the terrarium (as long if this is ok for the fish). furthermore you could put some roots and plants in the tank (for this small fish). make sure you do not enter the room too fast. make sure one side of the aquarium is on the wall. wild cought animals are a little bit more shy than those captive bred ... i hope this helps. i think this should definately work.

Hey I got an oscar a month ago and its in a 25 gallon tank but he is only 5 in long but eventually I'm going to put him in a 55 gallon tank but that is not my problem I have a air pump, perfect temp, perfect ph, plants, a filter, and a light. My problem is that I've had this fish for a month and everytime he sees me in the room he goes straight to the bottom and plays dead what can I do for him to stop that?

and the myth that a oscar stops growing to the size of hes tank is true this is called death and after this occurs the fish will indeed stop growing tis is true that it grow slower but to ensure the health of oscars its a constant cost upgrading it tanks and feeding them the dealer who sold u this fish should of told u the great cost and hassel of owning a oscar

height of a tank has no play on the amount of fish u can keep in there its all surface area more surface area more fish hexagonal tanks are useless it all about lenth + width and dude how dont u know this im only 14

an oscar will only grow as long as the width of the tank(or the shortest dimension of the tank) that way it will be able to turn around

certain fish as long as its not like 10 gallons but yes sometimes they have a gene that makes them get big and if they do and they get in a tank too small u can stunt them which is where theyre organs grow but they dont and they die very early
I have an oscar and as im putting food into its tank it will jump up at me, is that normal? or is it trying to attack me?
