The Doctor and Sarah are summoned to a research facility in the Antarctic, following the discovery of two mysterious seed pods. Before they have a chance to examine them fully, one pod germinates, infecting a member of the base staff.

  • This is fantastic! I'm 13, and a big fan of Doctor Who. My favourite doctor is Pat Troughton, followed by Tom Baker and i'm proud to say this story is my all time favourite! This trailer is fantastic but doesn't do the story justice. It's just great! Anyone who hasn't got this story on DVD I strongly advice they do, it's a real classic!

  • The end of everything! You understand everything! Even your pension!

    Classic Tom!

  • Wonderful story. Season 13 is fantastically good; this and Pyramids of Mars are the best and should be seen by everyone. Then I would say Brain of Morbius and Planet of Evil, two stories that aren't quite as perfect but are still smashing. Personally I find The Android invasion and Terror of the Zygons to be a little weak, but only compared to the perfection of Seeds and Pyramids.

However, Season 14 has three serials as good: The Deadly Assassin, The Robots of Death and The Talons of Weng-Chi

  • @JoeConcerts Agreed - That last season has some great stuff - Battlefield suffers from naff production values, and Ghost Light needed more time to explain itself, but apart from that, i love that season

  • My favourite doctor who story probably

  • "Seeds of Doom" is one of my most recent DVD additions, and it definitely ranks among the best DW's of all time, as do SO many of the shows from Seasons 12,13 & 14. It is so difficult to pick one best show from among these DW masterpieces, that I personally just list them in broadcast order, starting with "Ark in Space", and ending with "Talons of Weng Chiang".

Excellent Stories, that are just short of "masterpiece" in this era are Revenge/Cybermen, Android Invasion, Hand/Fear & Face/Evil.

  • I just realised i've already commented on this trailer before (Three times now!). Sorry, I guess it's a testament to how much I like the story.

  • This is my favourite Doctor Who story ever, and I got into Doctor Who from the new series. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who hasn't got it.

  • Got to be the best Dr Who story ever.

  • @ricchardo Mccoy has a great misterious alian potrayal to his doctor, Tom Baker is sometimes my favirote depending how I'm feeling at times. Mccoy's time was overshadowed by bad scripting (Andrew Cartmel wasn't THE best in the world at script editing) and poor ratings, but the last season before the series was axed, in 1989, Dr Who was starting to come back to the Dr Who we all knew. I thought Mccoy did very well with what the show had at the time, and always seemed to enjoy his time on the show
