SOS Children's Villages Sri Lanka - a documentary

SOS Children's Villages focuses on family-based, long-term care of children who can no longer grow up with their biological families. At our SOS Children's Villages and SOS Youth Facilities they experience reliable relationships and love once again, meaning that they can recover from what they have experienced, which has often been traumatic. They grow up in a stable family environment, and are supported individually until they become independent young adults.

We have 5 SOS Childrens Villages around Sri Lanka (6th to be built in Jaffna soon) where children at risk are given a real home with a SOS Mother and siblings to grow up with. We also have numerous projects around Sri Lanka which include Social & Medical centres, Youth facilities, Vocational training centres, a Hermann Gmeiner school, Kindergardens, Day care centres and Family Strengthening Programmes.

We are in the process of establishing the 6th SOS Children's Village in Jaffna. This would be a new home to the children and youth in our SOS Temporary Care Project at Chettikulam and to the many children in the north of our country.
