@Goobian I agree that it's wrong for one person to judge another. I've done bad things, as we all do. I'm not a big fan of religion either. Religion is all about rules, hypocrisy, etc. It's about a relationship, and having a good one with God. That's it, and I know it's not for everyone. I agree that terrible things have been perpetuated in the name of religion--sometimes even in Jesus' name. It's an atrocity and in many ways I agree that the world would be better without such differences.

@sitonthecouch acting like you are better then me and judging me is a sin. My point was, I am an Atheist but am an honest, kind person. I am not beating up old people and raising hell all over town. I just don't believe in God. And I do not like religion. If there were no religion I think the world would be better. People using a good conscience to feel better is how we should do things.

@Goobian At the end of the day it not what anyone else thinks about that it's what God says about it, and God has made it known that being good by our doing is not good enough, because all of our goodness is like filthy rags. What you need to have a clean conscience of who you really are is Jesus, not making an excuse about our humanity, but an confession.

@Goobian We all do things that are wrong or bad because we're human--everyone. But if the standard of getting into Heaven is the 10 commandments, who could get in? The Bible says that if you fail in keeping even one part of the law, then you've basically failed everything because you're not perfect. If you've ever lied even once, you're a liar. If you lust, you're an adulterer at heart. That's just 2/10. Jesus was the only one who kept the law. That's why He died, to take our just punishment.

It's annoying hearing about someone talking about finding God etc. because I am an Atheist and that doesn't mean I do drugs, steal, talk back to elderly, etc. I am a good person. Sure I do things that are wrong or bad but I am only human. I have a good heart. Just because i follow my own gut on things it doesn't mean I am automatically an awful person.
