@TheRealEmskiHelp It's not the same though... you can tune out of the radio and a passenger could stop talking because they notice you need to concentrate.
And if you've got one hand on the phone and one on the wheel, what are you going to change gear with?
Even hands free, evidence shows the distraction dangers are akin to twice over the (UK) drink/drive limit.
@Cliffjumper24 Don't lecture ma about cars hitting cyclists, I've just got out of hospital from another woman driver hitting me. If you're listening to the radio, talking on bluetooth headset or chatting to the passenger, it's all the same shit. 90% of people steer with one hand anyway, so it still doesn't matter what you use the other hand for.
@TheRealEmskiHelp That's because the distraction is dangerous.... especially for cyclists who have the disfortune not to be noticed far too often.
A distracted driver is even less aware, so although videos like this may be seen as nitpicking, it's noteworthy.
Remember, if a motorist hits another car, the driver will only be taking the details of the other driver for the insurance claim.... in a collision with a cyclist, he could be taking their life!
I don't think I'd like to be a traffic cop, that's a tough job to say the least. OTOH I recently recognised my mate in his car (he's a copper) from the rego first, before I saw them inside. LOL!

No one gave a shit about being on the phone before, but since they brought a law in, everyone goes crazy over it.
