what that other person said was uncalled for, but it is easier if you just leave it in the water for about thirty minutes, you really dont have to re do it over and over... i just tried it with a badly tarnished black bracelet, came out sparkling silver without me messing with it at all save to flip it once.
its good to clean your diamonds too. Most real stones have holes behind them in the mount so you can clean them.
I have learned to love toothpaste as a cleaner for my Sterling. Just a fast rub down with the toothpaste then rinse it off. removes most tarnish in seconds. (NOTE: Some people say this puts fine scratches you can't see but never bothers me and don't use on valuable coins.) Cheap silver is ok...
You can make this easier by just putting the water in first, and some baking soda and then stir it up. Then put anything in there, the longer it remains the cleaner it gets. You dont need the baking soda all over the silver cause the soda is only ment to make the water carry electricity by salt or something.
for a dirty piece like that..... heres a tip: rub it with baking soda before u dump it in the water. depending on the size of the chain put some baking soda (dry) in a bowl about 2tbsp and put the chain in and rub away u can use ur fingers or a soft bristle toothbrush to get into small details then dump it in the wash described in the video.
