Ever wondered how earthquakes are spread? Most media show their position on the surface of the planet, but what about a view of their 3D distribution inside the Earth's lithosphere?
A list of more than 5000 earthquake records is processed. All earthquakes with known depths are extracted and visualized in 3D. The distribution of earthquakes shows seismic membranes that are the areas where tectonic plates collide.
Note, that the depths pictured in the animation are not at the same scale as the image of the Earth. In reality, the earthquakes originate in a very thin layer near the surface.
Cool!!!
Do you use a large metadatabase and read the 3D data from that?
If it is that way, From where did you get the database? ???

@jotape1960 The database is "The Significant Earthquake Database" by the National Geophysical Data Center. It has records of earthquakes from year -2150 to present.
